National Tree Planting Day
Date: Sunday 1 August

Come along for a relaxed day of planting. Meet at the student carpark at the University of Melbourne Dookie Campus and register your details.
Planting will be on Dookie-Gowangardie Road, Dookie and an adjoining paddock of the college returning to an undercover BBQ for lunch at the student carpark.

The Dookie Show is a great day out for families to catch up with one another in the picturesque setting nestled at the base of the Dookie hills. The emphasis is on children and families with lots of games and events for them during the afternoon.
The Craft & Produce Pavilion is usually a blaze of splendor and creativity filled with extremely high quality work from all areas of expertise. The horses on the arena are a fantastic sight and can be viewed from the seating around the oval whilst enjoying a cappuccino or something delicious to eat.Once again this year there will be the Local Hall of Produce showcasing locally produced goods. It is a day where people from all sectors come together and take pride in what can be achieved as a small community.
In 2010, there will be homemade billy cart races and a modified pushbike competition. There are lots of new categories for everyone so be sure to have a look at the schedule available from the Dookie shop, Bendigo Bank in Dookie, The Harvest Cafe or from the Show Secretary.
Admission : Memberships-$20, Adults-$8, Children (age 6-16)-$4, Pensioners-$5

Fox Research - 'Get to know your local feral'
Part of the Dookie Bio Links program
Time: Wednesday 11 August, 7.30pm.
Venue: Gladstone Hotel. Mary Street, Dookie.
Andrew Carter, PhD student from Charles Sturt University will present his findings on fox behaviour and movements, whilst studying on a fourteen month field work in our area.
The observations are fascinating and should not be missed. Over the past two years Dookie has been a part of a fox control program. Alex Graham will present a report on the outcome of this program.
Jim Begley from the Department of Primary Industries will also report on the threatened grassy woodlands project.
Any interested members of the public welcome to attend.
Australia Day Celebrations (23 January 2008)
Communities throughout Greater Shepparton will celebrate Australia Day with a number of functions being held on Saturday 26 January.
Strong Women Strong Families - five events in five days (22 January 2008)
The Greater Shepparton City Council has put together a program of free events for Goulburn Valley women in need of some pampering and indulgence during the drought.
Small towns online (5 December 2007)
The Greater Shepparton City Council will develop websites for Dookie, Murchison and Tatura to promote tourist attractions, events and activities to visitors and locals.

Wine'd Down in Dookie Market
There will be wine tasting, fruit and almond products, locally grown lavender products, honey, candles, art and much more. The third annual market will have plenty of food, music and childrens entertainment in the surrounds of the the town park at the foot of the Dookie hills.

The Australian Schools Cycling Cup (ASCC) is the "Tour de France" for schools.
The ASCC will see over 500 competitors and be conducted over two days of competition on Wednesday 1 April and Thursday 2 April 2009. The hub of the ASCC will be Dookie. All events will be conducted in Dookie and on Wednesday evening there will be a'Come and Try' Track and BMX session at the Shepparton Velodrome, with fivetime Olympian and former World Champion, Shane Kelly.
There will bejunior andsenior divisions for males and females. Junior divisions are students in yearsseven,eight and nine. Senior division is for students in years10, 11 and12.
Schools will participate ina range ofcycling disciplinesincluding Road Race, Individual Time Trial, Teams Time Trial, Cross Country Mountain Bike and Downhill Mountain Bike.
The competition is sanctioned by Cycling Australia and officiated by qualified cycling officials.
